Frequently Asked Questions (updated 8/15/2025)

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH TARIFFS AND CUSTOMS FEES?

A:  The sad answer is:  I'm not sure and neither is anyone else.  At the moment it seems like it does not affect anything but my production costs, as materials I use for most of my physical products are made outside of the US.  I'm unsure what the fallout will be as things seem to be changing from day to day based on the stupidity of the current regime, but as soon as I have concrete information, if it affects the costs of international shipping, I will make a note of it so customers are not caught unawares.  As of now it seems things will operate as normal with customs in other countries, and orders within the US will not be charged extra.  For now.  My hope is that all this stupidity is reversed and small businesses can get back to being in business, but only time will tell unfortunately.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

A: Yes, but it is limited, and it may become more limited depending on what stupidity the current American regime chooses to implement regarding tariffs and customs internationally.  Currently I ship to all of North America and Non-EU countries, as the EU has implemented restrictions requiring legal representatives in their countries.  I am a small one person shop and I cannot afford that kind of legal and compliance fees, so unfortunately I have had to suspend shipping to the EU.

WHY IS MY EMAIL BOUNCING BACK OR NOT GETTING ANSWERED?

A: There has been a significant uptick in spambots and fraudulent accounts attempting to scam this shop via email, and as such, it is possible legitimate emails with questions or inquiries got missed or thrown into the spam filter.  If you are trying to ask about an order, be sure to include the order number, and if you have other questions or business inquiries be sure that you include such information in the subject line.  Emails with no subject or things like "hi" only in the subject line will likely be flagged as spam.

WHEN WILL MY ITEM SHIP?

A: I generally try to ship things out once a week.  I try to send packages out in bulk to cut down on post office trips, so allow for extra time before assuming your package is late or missing.  You will receive an email when I have printed out your packing slip and I will be bringing your order to the post office within a day or so after that.

DO YOU MAKE "X" DESIGN ANYMORE?

A:  No, my art and designs are all one-of-a-kind works and if I retire a design it usually means I either can’t, or no longer have an interest in making more of that.  The only exceptions are if I have old casts or pieces leftover around the studio that I either find or end up finishing but that is not a guarantee of any sort.

WHAT IS YOUR ART MADE OUT OF?

A:  All my resin figurines and jewelry is polyurethane resin, and is hand painted with acrylic paints.  I will sometimes use pigments and glosses to paint or color the resin.  Terrariums and Dishware sculptures use glass dishes or vases as bases with faux plants, real shells, sand, and rocks.

DO YOU DO CUSTOMS?

A: Currently, no, I do not take custom commissions for any of my sculpture work.  The only commissions I currently accept are digital illustrations, logo design work, or commercial illustration work.  Inquiries about such commissions can be sent via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page.  Please be sure to include specifics of your query in the subject line so it does not get flagged as spam.  "Hi" or "A Simple Question" is not an acceptable subject line and will get flagged.

CONCERNING THE CHARITY DONATIONS FROM SCULPTURES & TERRARIUMS:

Going forward, 50% of all proceeds from sales of my terrariums, one-off sculptures, and wall sculpture will be donated to a rotating set of charities.  I will announce which charities will currently be donated to on the shop page and social media.  These will change at various times throughout the year, and will often be split between environmental, climate change, progressive, civil rights, and social justice foundations.  I do as much research as I can before deciding which charity I will donate to to ensure that the funds will be used properly, and I will link to the home page of each organization for transparency.  Receipts of the donations will be posted on social media also for transparency, as will announcements on when the donations will take place (as sales can be inconsistent and I want to minimize fees that might accumulate with multiple small transactions to the organizations).
